Preparing for your couples shoot
Your shoot is just around the corner and I’m sure you have a million and one questions! Well luckily this little guide is here to answer as many of those as possible!
We’ll be covering what to expect throughout the process and some outfit inspo! You can refer back to this guide anytime! 😊

Being a lover of natural light, my timing for your session isn’t a coincidence, it is scheduled so that we have the best lighting for your photos. (Trust me: I’m the girl looking at the sunset schedule a year in advance!)
Please allow enough time when you find yourself planning and include time for travel or traffic. We will shoot until the sun sets, so if we begin a bit late, we won’t stay late! This just ensures that we are in the right place or the right light and will give you the best results!

A lot of women opt to get their hair and makeup professionally done for their session. Make sure you allow enough time to enjoy that experience prior to the photos.
If you want to arrive in your first outfit, we will get right to work (after a big hug and a little small talk!)
Small details like having manicured nails to show off your ring, makeup that makes you feel comfortable and the right colored socks help ease stress, so consider setting out your outfits the night before! Also make sure you have every accessory you want to be photographed ready!

I love to offer the opportunity for an outfit change halfway through the session. This gives you the opportunity to get a few different looks and feels with your session while maximizing our time together.
Many couples opt for one dressier option and one more casual option.
Warning: You may need to change in your car, depending on where we are shooting! Just be prepared for the adventure! I’ll stand guard!

Please know that I do not expect you to be models. My job is to direct you in a way that helps you relax, feel natural, and be your true comfortable selves in front of my lens.
You do not need to practice poses, study Pinterest pints or let the nerves take over. By the end of the session, you will feel like Tyra Banks and wonder when your big break in modeling will come!
Don’t worry if you are feeling nervous, I’ll be sure the end result is something you will love!

If you’re wondering about how you can make your experience personal and memorable, feel free to bring along any props that are special to you.
I want your session to scream YOU, so if that means bringing glitter, champagne (please be 21 for this one 😂) or props that tell your story, please do!
We can incorporate them into your photos in a fun way! Whatever you want in your photos, I’ll do my best to make it happen!

Your photos will be delivered two weeks after your shoot via an online gallery.
You do have print rights which means you can print everything whereever you want!
However your gallery does come with a shop section and if you’d like you can use that for announcements, prints, and more!

How to look good on for your session
What to wear!
First things first, what you wear MATTERS. Why? Because it’s what you’ll see every single time you want to look at your pictures.
Also all your friends and family will see these too, so I want to make it easy for you to look your best!

Colors, style, and being yourself
What to wear
You should aim to wear colors that are complementary to each other, but not matchy matchy. It looks waaayy more natural that way!
Keep in mind things like your wedding colors, the time of year, and what you feel most confident in!
Solids over prints whenever possible. Some prints can show up wonky on camera! (Particularly anything with a tiny pattern on it)
Saying all of that, if there is something that you love and have DREAMED about wearing to your session, then go ahead and wear it! These are not rules, just helpful suggestions!
Outfits
How many outfits should you have, and dressy or casual?
So one big issue people have with choosing an outfit, is if they should do dressy or casual. I personally think you should do both!
This allows you to have a different vibe based off of your outfit and location. I will say, you should limit your outfits changes to two or three. The more outfits you are changing into means the less time we can spend taking photos!
This balance is important because we are trying to stay within a certain window so that you can have that dreamy beautiful light!
